Attraction

I do very much believe certain attributes are considered universally attractive. These universal attributes are long hair, fair colored skin, light eye color, and a slim or fit body type. The entertainment world has made it so such certain attributes hold the standard for beauty as well. On TV and in the magazines women always have long hair, most even add extensions. Celebrities and models are always the slimmest. The media never has anything nice to say if a person is not skinny. The media's concept of beauty is absolutely ridiculous, but the media's influence on what beauty is, is at an all time high.

One's peer is a heavy influence on what beauty is as well. People want to fit in and be liked by their peers so naturally one's peer is going to have a big influence on how we think we should look. But I do believe that one's sense of beauty is learned, not intrinsic. Our up bringing has a lot to do with it. Our family sets the tone for what beauty is for us, by telling us that we are beautiful, and for some, teaching us that beauty goes beyond how we look; it is skin deep. Other factors like chemistry, personality, finance, and stablity can influence the perception of attraction. Really it all depends on the person and what they look for to be beautiful.

Everyone is beautiful in there own way. I do base most of the attraction on a guys personality and attitude. But I would be lying if I say that how they looked didn't matter because it does. I have to be a little bit physically attracted to a person before I want to get to know them. Physical attraction for me is not only a person's physical makeup, it's how they dress, how they walk, and how they talk. I call it "swagg". So no I don't necessarily care about the specifics of how someone looks, but it's how they carry themselves, again that swagg, that draws me in.
